NAMI Ohio is pleased to announce that registration for its 2015 conference is open!
Friday’s conference agenda will focus on the historical and contemporary institutionalization of persons with mental illness in our jails and prisons, paying special tribute to Dorothea Dix, a voice for the mentally ill. Afternoon workshops will explore, in a live theater role-play format, the various points in the criminal justice system at which a person with mental illness can be “intercepted” and kept from becoming more deeply entangled in the criminal justice system.
The second day of the conference will feature workshops on NAMI affiliate support and development, legislative concerns and initiatives, building youth supports, and recovery, resiliency and wellness. The Ohio Association of Adult Care Facilities will also hold its annual meeting concurrently with our Saturday program. Please see the attached link, share this announcement and plan to join us on April 24 and 25!
CEUs and CLEs will be applied for. The registration website is www.namiohioconference2015.eventbrite.com Questions should be directed to Jessica Poprocki, 419-953-7063.
