Pack a chair and picnic and meet us behind the Union Station Arch on the lawn of McFerson Commons to celebrate Columbus Landmarks' 40th Birthday!
Join Columbus Landmarks for a summer picnic and hear firsthand, from some of those who were there, the dramatic story of the loss of the 1897 Daniel Burnham designed Union Station and the subsequent fight to save the remaining Arch ... and move it twice! Columbus Landmarks was founded from this effort and we look forward to gathering with friends and supporters, old and new, at this significant site. Franklin Conaway, Bob Loversidge, Jeff Darbee & Nancy Recchie (Jeff & Nancy are pictured above!) will share what they were up against in 1977 and how it impacted their lives and careers.
This is a free event - no tickets necessary, but please RSVP so that we have enough cake!
We hope to see our members, volunteers, past and current trustees, sponsors and supporters, and anyone who cares about historic preservation and quality new design! Columbus Landmarks will provide dessert. Bring whatever else you may need for a lovely summer evening in the park ... come one, come all!
